Rolled Christmas Cookies

This dough can be rolled and re-rolled as often as necessary for cutting desired shapes and won't become too tough.

Serves: 4


Ingredients

1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp soda
1 cup butter (or margarine)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 egg, well beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond extract,(optional)


Method

  1. Cut the butter or margarine into the flour and work into crumbs, (like pie crust).
  2. Add the egg, vanilla and almond extract.
  3. Frost with favorite powdered sugar icing and decorate.
  4. Bake at 300 to 350 degrees for 8 minutes.
