Rolled Christmas Cookies
This dough can be rolled and re-rolled as often as necessary for cutting desired shapes and won't become too tough.
Serves: 4
Ingredients
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp soda
1 cup butter (or margarine)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 egg, well beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond extract,(optional)
Method
- Cut the butter or margarine into the flour and work into crumbs, (like pie crust).
- Add the egg, vanilla and almond extract.
- Frost with favorite powdered sugar icing and decorate.
- Bake at 300 to 350 degrees for 8 minutes.
