Sweet-Sour Meat Balls
Serve over cooked rice (white).
Serves: 6
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef, seasoned with salt
1 or 2 Tablespoons salad oil
1 cup pineapple chunks, drained
1/2 cup sugar (if pineapple is in juice, not in heavy syrup)
2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
1/2 cup canned pineapple juice
2 Tablespoons corn starch
1/4 cup cold water
2 sweet green bell peppers, cored, seeded, cut into strips
Method
- Make meat into bite-size meat balls. Brown in oil and drain.
- Mix pineapple, peppers, soy sauce, pineapple juice, and cornstarch, which has been mixed with the water. Cook about 10 minutes and add meat balls.
- Simmer covered about 15 minutes.
